Carmel holds a master degree in International Relations-International Law from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and will soon graduate her second master (MSc) in International Development Studies at the University of Amsterdam. Carmel has held various positions in policy, legislation, international law and international cooperation, in both government and non-government international organizations (including the ICRC, Ministry of Justice, UN ICTR, Parliament and the Embassy in the Hague). Her current interests include information technology and global change; big data analytics, cryptography and privacy; international law and the role of regulator today. But whenever she feels like disconnect, the imaginary worlds of Ian Fleming, Dan Brown and others, always serve as the perfect escape.
Ina E. Rüber .
Ina works at the German Institute for Adult Education – Leibniz-Centre for Lifelong Learning as a researcher. She further is an associated member of the LEAD graduate school and research network at the University of Tübingen and does her PhD around and about the question, whether adult learning can be the fuel to a vivid civil society. She graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a Research Masters Social Sciences. Apart from academics, Ina can be found on the streets, running, cycling or spreading political spirits. If not outside, she is probably swimming, or simply having a good time with scouts, friends and family.
Jocelyn is originally from the California bay area. She received her B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley and her M.Sc. in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Amsterdam. Her research focused on the onset of disability among athletes in the Netherlands and her main areas of interest include medical and forensic anthropology. Jocelyn spends her free time practicing Dutch and traveling as much as she can.
Tavian is an academic writing instructor at the ADA University in Baku, Azerbaijan. He graduated in 2014 with an MSc in Political Science – International Relations from the University of Amsterdam. His research interests include conflict studies with a focus on social protest movements in the Middle East and CIS regions. Tavian enjoys traveling as well as eating and cooking different types of cuisine.
Tess has graduated from the London School of Economics (MSc Political Sociology) and the Amsterdam University College (BA Politics and Sociology). Academically, she is interested in questions of multiculturalism, race and gender in the public sphere, and the influence of globalization on local contexts. Distracting her from her studies are keeping up with international pop culture developments, using her Cineville-membership and exploring in and outside of Amsterdam.

Thanos studied Economics at the Panteion University of Athens. After his graduation in 2011, he moved to the Netherlands and studied International Development at the University of Amsterdam. After his master ́s degree, he developed a Ph.D. thesis proposal regarding the effect of open social networks in the educational attainment of students who lack social and economic resources. In his spare time he loves traveling, listening to music and exercising.
